Our 2015-16 school year is underway and our K-5th grade Health classes are going strong! Children are learning lifelong health habits now, and they are modeling after the adults they are around daily. If children can learn beneficial, positive habits now, they are more likely to continue those habits throughout their lifetime.

Children’s health includes the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being from infancy through adolescence. So it’s a lot more than just apple and orange talk! Although, these are 2 of our favorite fruits!

We have been going over WHAT health is and WHY we need to learn healthier habits now and continue to try and improve these habits. Back to school safety, first aid, and discussion of community helpers have been some of our initial topics.

Now we are diving into the topic of food groups. I encourage you to ask your children about what we have been learning about in Health—those same topics usually can benefit everyone in the family!
