Horatio Alger Scholarship: 50 $5000 Scholarships. Eligibility criteria: be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Nebraska, have a strong commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution located in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution); critical financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family is preferred; if higher, an explanation must be provided); involvement in co-curricular and community activities; demonstrate academic achievement (minimum grade point average of 2.0); be a resident of Nebraska, be a citizen of the United States. Ak-Sar-Ben Scholarship Program
This scholarship is in
partnership with the Horatio Alger Association, Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben
Foundation and TeamMates. This scholarship provides financial
assistance to students throughout the nation who have financial need and
exhibit integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.
Criteria includes high school graduation in spring/summer of 2013,
commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree, and United States
citizenship. Award value varies from $2,500 to $20,000.

Norma Ross Walter Scholarship Program of the Willa Cather Pioneer Memorial and Education Foundation: The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to female graduates of Nebraska high schools who are or will be planning to enroll as English majors at accredited colleges or universities. Northeast Community College Scholarships: One online application is required for most of the Northeast Community College scholarships. Available November 19, 2012, you must submit the completed Online Scholarship Application at http://www.northeast.edu/financial-aid-and-scholarships/scholarships.aspx no later than February 1, 2013, to be considered for scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year. CCC ACT Advantage Scholarship (formly known as Early Advantage Scholarship): This award in the amount of $700 is based on ACT composite of 21 or above and academic achievement. Students must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent. Prospective students must have submitted their ACT scores to Central Community College and will need to submit an application for admission for the acadmic year.
