Applying Geometry to the Real World!

January 28, 2013

The Geometry students are currently half way through our chapter of polygons and areas.  They are studying how the basic shapes that they look at in their textbook will transfer to real-life situations in the work place.  When we conclude with the chapter the students will complete more research on careers that use the geometry concepts that we just learned.  Some of these careers include carpenters, designers, and architects.  There are many different geometric shapes in the world around us.  Most of them are man made, and by learning about these shapes the students will understand the importance of learning basic geometry concept and how it will assist them in the future.
