Scientific Method and Paper Airplanes

November 28, 2011

Ms. Klein and Mrs, Bachmann's applied science classes are finishing up their formal application of the scientific method with  paper airplanes.  Students made seven complex paper airplanes using 32 lb cotton paper, rubber cement, tape, paper clips, and a lot of time.  These planes can easily fly the length of the gym if they are well constructed. Mohamed Hassan and Junior Munoz-Sosa have been able to throw their planes the furtherest.  Students scored each planes on a rubric they made.  The concluding activity will be to write a five paragraph essay summarizing their results.
