NEW TEACHERS EXPAND CTE COURSE OFFERINGS

October 3, 2014

The opportunity for high school students to earn CTE college credit has increased with additional course offerings.  Lexington High School added two additional instructors to the CTE department this year.  Shane Schmidt is now teaching auto mechanics courses that have not previously been taught at LHS, and Jason Reed was hired to teach welding at the high school, which freed up Mr. Schott, and Mr. Hoyt’s schedules to add additional courses.

Along with the new courses, Mr. Reed, and Mr. Hoyt will be sponsoring a new student organization.  Skills USA has been added this year which will enable Lexington students to compete with students from other schools in the state in many CTE areas.
