American History II

In American History II classes, we are currently discussing the Roaring 20’s and The Jazz Age.  The classes have been actively engaged in the events that took place during the 20’s and the changing culture that came with urbanization.  Students have filled out graphic organizers, took detailed notes, and watched videos over Americans living life to the fullest as new social and cultural trends swept the nation.  We are currently discussing the impact of the automobile and its effects on American society.  Also, The Harlem Renaissance which helped provide a foundation of African-American intellectualism and how these writers, artists, and musicians have an impact on America still today.   The students really seem to be enjoying this unit due to the significant changes that are occurring throughout the 1920’s and the impact this decade had on American History.
