A Different Perspective

February 6, 2017

In the DLP Social Studies class we have been taking our time to learn about WWII from America’s point of view.  The students seemed very interested in the Holocaust and the effect that it had on Europeans.  To dive into that material we read “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry.  The students were able to see the perspective of the Holocaust from the eyes of one small girl who had to be brave and help her friend (and her friend's family) to safety in Sweden during the German Occupation of Denmark.

The students really seemed to enjoy spending the time hearing this story and getting a different perspective on WWII.  We are now moving into the close of WWII in Asia.
