Graduation time!

January 30, 2017

Students in Mr. Patocka’s Spanish 4 Honors class have begun composition of an essay this quarter on the topic of graduation and future plans.  Students investigate future careers and schools they may wish to attend using online resources such as nebraskacareerconnections.org and educationquest.org.  This information is then integrated into their essay, written completely in Spanish, which later on will be reviewed by their peers before the final draft is submitted.

Students are also preparing a presentation on the information they found and will share this information in March as we approach the end of 3rd quarter.  Drafts of the presentation will also be shared via Google for peer review; however, students may also use presentation tools such as Prezi, Keynote or Power Point. Final presentation drafts will also be presented to the class in Spanish.

The goal of this project is to help students investigate colleges, universities, as well as post-graduation programs showing them the options that are out there.  The challenge is the translation of work and career related English terminology into grammatically correct Spanish.  The future of our LHS students looks very bright, indeed!
