Minutemen and Minutemaids

January 4, 2018

Thank you for stopping by and reading about what is happening in our classroom.  This week serves as the jumping off point of teaching a new group in the Sociology of the Family sections I teach.  I am looking very forward to interacting with some old faces in returning students and new faces of students I have yet to be gifted to know.

In the American History I classes we will begin our journey by discussing the era known as Reconstruction beginning in 1865.  By the end of the semester, we will be covering up through World War I.  I am extremely excited to share this story with the students one last time as the struggles, trials, and tribulations of those that came before us that have allowed us to reach our own personal American dream.

Finally, I have to take a moment to give a shout out to the reserve basketball boys.  I had not planned on coaching basketball again, but luck struck at the right time and I was lucky enough to join a great group of coaches with Mr. Jones, Mr. Hansen, Mr. Young, and Mr. Soflin.  The work those guys put into your sons, always considering their representation of not only the school but the community, is commendable.  I have had the opportunity to place my focus on the Freshmen and a few Sophomores.  It has been a real treat to get to do this a final time.  The commitment that these boys show has been more than I could have asked.  Waking up for the 6:15 practices have played a large role in their development as individual players and as a treat.  Truly, it has been my honor to be a part of it and I continue to be excited at continuing the process with the gentlemen.

Thank you for taking the time to check in!
