THE WIZARD OF OZ will run January 28, 29 and 30 at LMS

December 12, 2016

The classic 1939 musical has been cast for Lexington High School’s winter production.  Fifty students will take part in the show about a Kansas farm girl who experiences a twister and ends up in the magical Land of Oz.  Senior Angelica Pargas will play the lead role of Dorothy.  Seniors Adrian Gomez and Cameron Vollmer will appear as her sidekicks the Tinman and the Cowardly Lion, and sophomore Erick Estrada will be the Scarecrow.  Senior Jonathan Madison will play Dorothy’s Uncle Hank while Theresa Aguirre will play her Aunt Em.  Senior Trey Fago will portray Professor Marvel who becomes the Wizard of Oz on Dorothy’s travels.  Dorothy’s nemesis the Wicked Witch of the West will be portrayed by senior Elizabeth Macias, and junior Camille Anderson will take on her first musical role as Glinda the Good Witch.  Senior Chris Rogers will have solo responsibilities as the Guard of Emerald City.  Jami White will act as student assistant director.  Various freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors round out the cast as Munchkins, Citizens of Oz, talking trees, singing crows, and flying monkeys.  Other cast members are as follows:

The show is directed by Melanie Chesley and Brian Botsford, their third collaboration in bringing the musical genre to the Lexington stage.  Tickets will be sold by students in the production beginning the middle of January.
